The lighthouse is one of the island's most beautiful sites to watch the sun set and dream away! The old stone California lighthouse stands as a silent sentry in the area known as "Hudishibana," near the island's northwestern tip. The lighthouse is named for the U.S ship - the California - which sunk about two years previous to its construction in 1910. Perched on a high seaside elevation, the lighthouse has become one of Aruba's scenic trademarks and offers a picture perfect view of the island's western coastline of sandy beaches, rolling sand dunes and rocky coral shorelines.

Starting at the Northern Trip of the island going down the North shore; the sand dunes at the California Lighthouse -marvoulous view-, the Alto Vista Chapel , the surfing at Wariruri, the Bushiribana Goldsmelters ruins often referred to as the Pirate's castle, the Natural Bridge , the old coconut plantation and the Andicuri beach (nice for bodysurfing) and the beach of Daimari. Following the coastline you'll find the little island that's not on the map --just 50 yards from our coast in front of the beach with no name--, Conchi or Natural Pool (only reached by 4W, horse or by hiking 30 minutes from Daimari), Dos Playa (two beautiful beaches next to each other), the dunes of Boca Prins, the Fontein cave, the Guadirikiri cave (the one with the hole in the roof and friendly bats), the Tunnel of Love cave (no bats).

Moomba Beach bar features it all. It is an open-air seaside restaurant where you can drink a cocktail or breakfast, lunch or dine with your toes in the sand. We love to recommend this beach bar to our guests for food, drinks, all day sunbathing and amazing sunsets! Boardwalk guests can make usage of the sun lounge chairs at Moomba beach club, free of charge.

Oranjestad is the capital of Aruba. It is a great place for shopping and there are several fine dining restaurants located in Oranjestad. Oranjestad is a 15minute drive from the hotel. There is a very good bus connection between Boardwalk Hotel Aruba and Oranjestad

Palm Beach is located 150 yards from the hotel. Its two-mile-long strip is home to many high-rise hotels and dotted by water sports concessions, piers, beach bars, restaurants and shops. Calm waters make this a comfortable haven for swimmers and snorkelers.

It is a kitesurf beach, with powder soft white sand and a lot of waves. For experienced swimmers and kitesurfers. The wind is onshore.

The Antilla is World War II shipwreck off the coast of Aruba that is a popular snorkeling and scuba diving destination. When Germany invaded the Netherlands on May 10, 1940, the relationship between the two nations was obviously strained. As part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, this extended to Aruba. The Antilla was a German U-boat supply ship that was anchored off the coast of Aruba at the time. When a contingent of Dutch Marines told the Antilla to surrender, the captain asked for an extension, and the Dutch accepted and gave the ship 24 hours to surrender. The Antilla was fairly new at the time, and rather than see her turned over to the enemy, the captain decided to scuttle the ship. After putting the crew ashore, he heated up the boilers, which were amidships, and opened the seacock. When the cold sea water hit the hot boilers, they exploded, ripping the ship in half. It sank in eight minutes.

Baby Beach is a cove-type beach. You won't get typical beach waves here - almost like a very clear swimming pool. It’s beautiful for snorkeling outside the reef.

Mangel Halto: is our favorite snorkel spot. Inside the reef it’s just sand no snorkeling. You have to go outside over the reef for great snorkeling. It’s easy because you can just wade out to the reef since it’s shallow inside.

Malmok area is nice for snorkeling along the cliffs.

Vela Wind & KiteSurf Center are located 300 yards from Boardwalk Hotel Aruba. The center offers kite and windsurf lessons and rental. They are renowned for offering the best equipment on the island.

Windsurfing, landsailing, kitesurfing, mountain biking, snorkeling, and other sports on Aruba is what Aruba active vacations has to offer.

The Fisherman’s Huts is located right across from Boardwalk Hotel Aruba. It is the only beach on Aruba where you can learn to kitesurf. Aruba has one of the best weather conditions of the Caribbean to kite and windsurf; the wind blows 350 days a year! Moreover, the warm flat and waste deep water makes for the perfect setting to enjoy kite and windsurfing.

This is a local place, where fresh fish is served. Think plastic chairs, caribbean sea views and fingerfood fresh fish. We love it!

Windows on Aruba is, hands down, the best Sunday brunch place on the island. It is a special experience at a reasonable price of $42.50 per adult. Non-stop Mimas and other beverages included. The concept of the a la carte brunch is that you order small dishes form the menu. It is an all you care to eat deal. The places are small and fully presented, we always say they look like a small piece of art.

Moomba Beach Club is a laid back beach bar. Boardwalk guests can make free use of the club's lounge chairs and receive a discount on the restaurant's food. On Sunday they offer an all you can eat buffet and nearly every other night there is live music. Barefoot laid back times at their best!

You cannot go to Aruba without eating at Madam Janette. Sitting outside under the stars, beautiful and exotic trees making a glorious canopy, and with some live entertainment made for a perfect romantic evening.

Our favorite dining place is located right in downtown Oranjestad. They serve Black Angus beef and local caught seafood. Our favorite starter is the beef carpaccio bombe for the meat entrees we recommend the delicious tenderloin with truffle butter. And for the seafood entrees the grilled tuna steak with some extra wasabi butter. All the dishes are prepared on the wood fire grill.
